Walmart and Sam's Club cut prices on summer groceries and essentials
Walmart (Nasdaq: WMT) and its Sam's Club division announced price reductions on thousands of items across grocery, household essentials, outdoor living, toys, and apparel for the summer season.
At Walmart stores, featured price reductions include fresh sweet corn at $0.25 per ear, down from $0.68; a 2.25 lb. bag of fresh red cherries at $5.63, down from $11.18; and Coca-Cola 24-packs at $9.97, down from $14.97. Ground beef, chips, ice cream, and paper plates are among other items marked down through the retailer's Rollback program.
"This summer, we're making even more investments in price, with thousands of Rollbacks across the products customers are shopping for most including beef, fresh produce and beverages, grills, pools, toys and summer fashion apparel," said Julie Barber, executive vice president and chief merchant, Walmart U.S.
Sam's Club is lowering prices on more than 250 items, with reductions on products including Member's Mark Bone-In Chicken Wings, now $2.00 per lb., down from $2.88 per lb.; Member's Mark Beef Hot Dogs at $10.86, down from $12.96; and Member's Mark 88/12 Ground Beef at $5.97 per lb., down from $6.17 per lb.
The discounts are available in stores, online, and through the Walmart and Sam's Club mobile apps, with pickup and delivery options available in select locations.
