Sikorsky to fund White House helipad construction, Trump says
Investing.com -- Aircraft manufacturer Sikorsky will cover the costs of a new helicopter landing pad being built at the White House, President Donald Trump said on Monday. The project is designed to support the next-generation Marine One helicopters.
Speaking at the White House, Trump stated that Sikorsky agreed to pay for the helipad after failing to inform the White House about the power of their helicopters. The company "felt a little bit guilty" about the helicopters destroying the lawn, Trump said.
Sikorsky is a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin.
