MicroVision, Inc. (NASDAQ: MVIS) has engaged J.A. Green & Company (JAG), a strategic advisory firm focused on defense, government, and industrial policy, to support the company's efforts to grow its presence in the U.S. defense sector, according to a press release.

JAG will provide strategic counsel to help MicroVision identify business-to-business partnerships, support participation in federal requests for information and proposals, and facilitate engagement with organizations across the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy, and other government agencies involved in autonomy, robotics, and advanced sensing technologies.

MicroVision's lidar and perception technologies are being evaluated and deployed across defense and autonomous applications, including unmanned systems, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), force protection, ground autonomy, and robotics.

"Defense and national security represent a significant long-term opportunity for MicroVision and an important component of our broader Lidar 2.0 strategy," said Glen DeVos, Chief Executive Officer of MicroVision. Jeff Green, President of J.A. Green & Company, noted that the U.S. military is pursuing ISR capabilities and said the firm is partnering with MicroVision to help deliver what he described as next-generation ISR systems.

MicroVision, based in Redmond, Washington, with engineering centers in the U.S. and Germany, develops lidar-based perception solutions across automotive, industrial, and security and defense markets.
