IceCure Medical Ltd. (NASDAQ: ICCM) highlighted growing commercial adoption of its ProSense cryoablation system in Brazil at the SOBRICE Onco 2026 interventional oncology congress, according to a company press release.

The Israel-based medical device company said commercial procedures using ProSense are already being performed in Brazil for breast, lung, kidney cancer, and musculoskeletal tumors. The system holds regulatory approval from Brazil's ANVISA, and IceCure's CEO Eyal Shamir said the recent U.S. Food and Drug Administration marketing authorization for early-stage, low-risk breast cancer has "provided significant tailwind, boosting awareness and interest among Brazilian physicians and institutions."

Two independent clinical studies using ProSense are underway or planned. The SIX trial, led by Dr. Vanessa Sanvido, a breast surgeon at HCor Hospital in São Paulo, aims to enroll 750 patients in Brazil. A separate study in France, called CRYODESC, is planned by Dr. Toulsie Ramtohul of Institut Curie in Paris and is expected to enroll 900 patients in a two-arm trial evaluating cryoablation against the current standard of care.

Dr. Ramtohul attended SOBRICE Onco 2026 and also led master classes on breast cancer cryoablation at Albert Einstein Hospital in São Paulo. Both physicians presented their clinical experience with ProSense to the Brazilian oncology community at the congress.

Dr. José Hugo Luz, Chief of Interventional Radiology at the Instituto Nacional De Câncer and a member of the SOBRICE Board of Directors, is among physicians advocating for ProSense adoption in Brazilian medical centers.

IceCure's ProSense system uses liquid nitrogen to destroy tumors by freezing and is marketed globally for indications cleared in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
