Insulet Corporation (NASDAQ: PODD) has launched its Omnipod 5 Automated Insulin Delivery System and its Omnipod Discover data platform in Spain, making it the 26th country where the company sells Omnipod products and the 20th where Omnipod 5 is available, according to a company statement.
Omnipod 5 is a tubeless, wearable insulin delivery system indicated in Spain for people aged two years and older with type 1 diabetes. The system automatically adjusts insulin delivery every five minutes and is compatible with the Abbott FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus and Dexcom G7 continuous glucose monitoring sensors.
Spain has more than 4.6 million adults with diabetes, including an estimated 189,000 individuals with type 1 diabetes, according to the International Diabetes Federation Atlas.
Omnipod Discover is a web-based retrospective data analytics platform designed for Omnipod 5 users, caregivers, and healthcare providers. The platform generates reports intended to support therapy discussions. It was first launched in five Middle Eastern countries in early 2026 and is expected to expand to additional markets over the coming year.
Insulet said it is working with Spanish health authorities and regional bodies to facilitate reimbursement access. The company noted that Omnipod 5 has launched in 15 countries over the last 18 months.
