Investing.com -- Tesla Inc introduced a six-seat version of its Model Y on Thursday in the United States and Puerto Rico.
The new Model Y Long Wheelbase features a three-row, six-seat configuration with captain seats in the second row, the company said in a post on X. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4.4 seconds and offers 325 miles of range.
Additional specs include heated and ventilated front row seats with powered thigh cushions. The second row has heated and ventilated captain seats with powered armrests and one-touch fold functionality. The third row features heated seats with power recline, one-touch fold, and child seat anchors.
The vehicle provides 89 cubic feet of trunk space, which can fit a 28-inch and 20-inch suitcase for each of the six passengers. The front trunk can hold an additional 20-inch suitcase.
Tesla equipped the model with upgraded acoustic glass and suspension to reduce road noise. The vehicle includes adaptive damping and staggered tires. A larger tailgate and bigger windows provide improved visibility.
The interior features a 16-inch touchscreen in the first row and an 8-inch touchscreen in the second row, along with a 19-speaker audio system. Upgraded 50-watt wireless charging pads with active cooling are installed in the front seats, and charging ports are available for all other seats.
The vehicle includes Full Self-Driving Supervised and integrated Grok AI technology. Safety features include optimized seat belts and side airbags for the second and third rows.
