MicroVision names IDI Laser as Southeast Asia distribution partner
MicroVision, Inc. (NASDAQ: MVIS) has appointed IDI Laser as a Premier Partner to represent its lidar and perception solutions across Southeast Asia, according to a press release issued July 1, 2026.
Under the agreement, IDI Laser will cover Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The Singapore-based company will support customer engagements in perimeter security, critical infrastructure protection, industrial automation, intelligent surveillance, and autonomous systems.
"Asia Pacific represents a significant growth opportunity for MicroVision as governments, infrastructure operators, and industrial organizations increasingly invest in advanced perception technologies," said Glen DeVos, Chief Executive Officer of MicroVision. "IDI Laser brings deep technical expertise, strong regional relationships, and extensive experience supporting customers across security, defense, and industrial markets."
IDI Laser Managing Director Chris Chan said the company is seeing growing regional interest in solutions that address safety, security, automation, and operational awareness. "We look forward to working closely with MicroVision to bring these capabilities to customers throughout the region," he said.
The two companies said they are currently supporting multiple customer engagements and evaluation programs across the region. MicroVision, headquartered in Redmond, Washington, with engineering centers in the U.S. and Germany, develops lidar-based hardware and software for automotive, industrial, and security and defense markets.
