CoStar Group acquires 30% stake in Italian real estate platform

July 1, 2026 6:01 AM

CoStar Group (NASDAQ: CSGP) has announced an investment in Wikicasa, an agent-backed real estate marketplace in Italy, resulting in an approximately 30% ownership stake in the company.

Wikicasa's existing shareholders include several of Italy's real estate agencies, among them Tecnocasa Group, Gabetti Group, RE/MAX Italy, and Tempocasa. The platform hosts more than 600,000 property listings, of which over 100,000 are commercial.

As part of the arrangement, CoStar Group said it plans to make Wikicasa's commercial listings available through LoopNet, its commercial real estate marketplace. CoStar Group reported that LoopNet attracts over 13 million monthly unique visitors.

The companies also said Wikicasa's agent network would support broader adoption of Matterport's 3D digital twin and artificial intelligence technologies across Italy's residential and commercial property markets. Matterport is already used by some Italian real estate agencies.

"LoopNet is the obvious place to start because we know that commercial real estate transactions cross borders, and LoopNet brings an engaged audience of over 13 million monthly unique visitors who are already searching for their next space across the world," said Andy Florance, founder and chief executive officer of CoStar Group.

Pietro Pellizzari, CEO of Wikicasa, said the investment would combine Wikicasa's local expertise and agent network with CoStar Group's technology and global reach.

CoStar Group operates several online real estate platforms, including Homes.com and Apartments.com in the United States, Domain in Australia, and OnTheMarket in the United Kingdom. The company reported 131 million average monthly unique visitors across its websites in the first quarter of 2026.
