Teledyne e2v releases radiation test data for space-grade ADC

Teledyne e2v Semiconductors announced radiation test results for its EV10AS940, a 10-bit, 12.8 GSps analog-to-digital converter designed for space applications, according to a company press release.

The EV10AS940 was tested as part of a single event effects campaign at RADEF in Finland and the Texas A&M University Cyclotron Institute in the United States. Test samples were exposed to heavy ions at linear energy transfer values up to 94 MeV·cm²/mg, across elevated temperature and increased supply-voltage conditions.

No single event latch-up events were observed across any tested configuration. All devices remained fully operational at the conclusion of the campaign, with no functional degradation reported.

Total ionizing dose characterization has also been completed. Additional testing is ongoing, with complete reports expected by the end of 2026.

The converter is intended for use in satellite communications payloads, synthetic aperture radar systems, space electronic intelligence platforms and advanced space instrumentation.
