Qatar affirms support for U.S.-Iran talks in key meeting
Investing.com -- Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani reaffirmed the country's role in mediating discussions between the U.S. and Iran during a meeting on Tuesday, according to the nation's Foreign Ministry.
The meeting included U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of President Donald Trump. The officials discussed recent developments in the ongoing negotiations between Washington and Tehran.
Sheikh Mohammed expressed Qatar's backing for all discussion tracks that stem from the memorandum of understanding between the U.S. and Iran, the ministry said.
The Foreign Ministry statement did not provide additional details about the specific topics covered during the meeting.
