Intuitive Machines, Inc. (Nasdaq: LUNR) has received a firm-fixed-price contract from NASA valued at up to $148.3 million to deliver a Nova-C lander to the Moon no later than 2028, according to a company statement.

The contract is structured in two parts: a $68.6 million base award for mission execution using a lander with proven lunar flight heritage, and a $79.7 million performance incentive tied to the successful demonstration of product-line qualification.

This represents the sixth Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) task order awarded to the Houston-based company. Under the contract, Intuitive Machines will deliver several payloads to the lunar surface, including stereo cameras to analyze surface-plume interactions, a laser retroreflector array for cislunar positioning, and a radiation monitor to collect environmental data.

"We are shifting the paradigm from custom aerospace engineering to commercial mass production of lunar infrastructure," said CEO Steve Altemus. "Our flight-proven Nova-C platform allows us to build, test, and deploy multiple landers in parallel using industry 4.0-powered manufacturing."

The company said the contract supports NASA's Artemis program and its Moon Base objectives by expanding the number of operational sites on the lunar surface.
