Modular Medical, Inc. (NASDAQ: MODD) announced that the first patients have completed onboarding and training and are actively using the company's Pivot tubeless insulin patch pump in real-world settings, according to a press release dated June 30, 2026.

The San Diego-based medical device company said patients began device training and insulin delivery on that date. The company stated it will now begin collecting real-world utilization data and user feedback to support broader product deployment.

"For the first time, patients are using Pivot to manage their insulin therapy, validating our vision of creating a simpler, more accessible pump solution for people who have historically remained on multiple daily injections," said Jeb Besser, Chief Executive Officer of Modular Medical.

Modular Medical describes the Pivot pump as designed for insulin-dependent adults who rely on multiple daily injections. The company characterizes this as a large, underserved population representing a multibillion-dollar market, though it did not provide specific market size data in the announcement.

The company was founded by Paul DiPerna, who also founded Tandem Diabetes in 2005 and invented its t:slim insulin pump. Modular Medical holds patents on the technologies used in the Pivot system.
