Jacobs (NYSE: J) has been selected by the Orange County Transportation Authority to provide construction management services for two highway improvement projects in Orange County, California, according to a company press release.

The first project involves the SR-91 corridor between La Palma and SR-55, where work will include adding a new eastbound general-purpose lane, widening bridges, and reconstructing interchanges. SR-91 carries more than 300,000 vehicles per day and serves as a connection between Orange County and the Inland Empire.

The second project covers the I-5 corridor between I-405 and Yale Avenue. That stretch of I-5 sees average daily traffic exceeding 275,000 vehicles. The project scope includes safety enhancements and travel time improvements.

Both projects are part of Orange County's long-range transportation plan. No contract values were disclosed in the announcement.

Eva Wood, executive vice president at Jacobs, said in a statement: "These projects are essential to improving mobility in one of the nation's most congested regions. Los Angeles and Orange County drivers lose an average of 88 hours annually to traffic delays."

Dallas-based Jacobs reported approximately $12 billion in annual revenue and employs roughly 47,000 people.
