WTW adds GPU support to RiskAgility FM for life insurers
WTW (NASDAQ: WTW) announced the addition of graphics processing unit (GPU) execution to its RiskAgility Financial Modeller (FM) platform, designed for life and health insurers.
The update integrates GPU execution into RiskAgility FM's existing Gen-2 engine and vGrid, the platform's on-demand computing resource. Users can now choose between GPU and CPU execution depending on their modelling requirements.
According to a statement from WTW, early testing has implied up to 100x cost savings in some situations, though the company did not specify the conditions under which those results were observed.
Mark Brown, Global Life Lead, Insurance Consulting and Technology at WTW, said: "RiskAgility FM has already transformed the economics of actuarial modelling through our Gen-2 engine. GPU capabilities now take that further, helping insurers optimise each model and accelerate high-volume projections with greater efficiency."
Brown added that the GPU acceleration is combined with what WTW describes as AI capabilities within the platform, allowing pricing teams to develop products in near real time and enabling executives to interrogate models directly.
WTW said the platform aims to reduce cost and turnaround time for financial and capital modelling while making it more interactive. The company did not provide a specific release date beyond the June 30, 2026 announcement.
