Schneider National, Inc. (NYSE: SNDR) announced that Jim Filter will assume the role of President and Chief Executive Officer effective July 1, succeeding Mark Rourke, who will transition to Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Filter has worked at Schneider for more than 27 years. Alongside his appointment, the Green Bay, Wisconsin-based transportation and logistics company announced structural changes, with two Executive Vice Presidents each overseeing a core business portfolio.

Michael Baumgardt has been named Executive Vice President of Intermodal & Logistics, reporting to Filter. Baumgardt joined Schneider in 2001 and has held roles in customer service, sales, network management and operations.

Steve Wells will join Schneider as Executive Vice President of Truckload, also reporting to Filter. Wells previously served as President of Cowan Systems LLC, a Schneider subsidiary, where he became Chief Operating Officer in 2019 before being promoted to President at the time of Schneider's acquisition of Cowan. He brings more than 27 years of industry experience.

Angela Prill was promoted to Senior Vice President of Intermodal Operations, joining Baumgardt's team. Prill has more than 15 years of supply chain experience and has held several leadership roles within Schneider's intermodal business.

"As we look ahead to a new chapter, I am confident the tightly aligned structure we are announcing today will help us remain nimble, maintain close relationships with our customers and continue building a stronger, more agile Schneider for the future," Filter said in a statement included in the press release.
