Laser Photonics Corporation (NASDAQ: LASE) announced that Chief Executive Officer Wayne Tupuola has taken a temporary leave of absence of approximately three months for health reasons, with the board appointing Ann Tewari as Interim President to maintain operational continuity.

Tewari, who serves as Executive Vice President of Global Operations and Strategy, has more than 36 years of experience across defense, aerospace, and industrial sectors, including senior roles at Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, IBM, Pratt & Whitney, and Comtech Telecommunications.

"My focus is on continuity and execution: advancing our directed-energy and DefenseTech programs, converting our growing pipeline into revenue, and maintaining the operational discipline that has strengthened the Company," Tewari said.

The company also provided updates on its defense and commercial programs. Its Laser Shield Anti-Drone System (LSAD) was selected by the U.S. Department of War under the MEIA "Vulcan" Call for Solutions in the Counter-C5ISR-T category, earning an invitation to a technical exchange with government engineers. The company is developing two LSAD product lines: a globally sourced configuration and a TAA-compliant version for U.S. applications.

Laser Photonics said it registered the Quantum Bullet™ trademark and is developing integration of the technology into the LSAD platform, claiming it could amplify laser energy output by up to 100 times.

On the commercial side, the company reported an initial laser-drilling system order from Johnson & Johnson for medical device manufacturing, delivery of a robotic laser cleaning cell to Vander-Bend Manufacturing, and a repeat deployment with Cummins.
