NovaBridge Biosciences names new CEO, replacing Xi-Yong Fu
NovaBridge Biosciences (Nasdaq: NBP) announced the appointment of Srishti Gupta, MD MPP, as Chief Executive Officer and a member of its Board of Directors, effective July 1, 2026.
Xi-Yong (Sean) Fu, who previously held the CEO role, will step down to pursue other opportunities. Fu will remain with the company in an advisory capacity during the transition.
Dr. Gupta most recently served as CEO of Idorsia Ltd, a Switzerland-based biopharmaceutical company, where she executed an operational and financial turnaround after four years on its board. Prior to that, she spent 18 years at McKinsey & Company, leading the firm's Global Health Practice for more than a decade. She also served on the faculty of the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Dr. Gupta currently serves on the board of Santhera Pharmaceuticals (SIX: SANN) and has previously served on the boards of Invivyd, Inc. and Idorsia Ltd. She holds a Doctor of Medicine from Harvard Medical School and a Master of Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School, among other academic credentials.
Fu Wei, Chairman of the Board of NovaBridge, attributed the appointment to Dr. Gupta's global commercial experience and ability to build strategic partnerships. "Her global commercial experience and proven ability to build strategic partnerships positions NovaBridge to advance givastomig and VIS-101 toward registration, and deliver innovative medicines to patients," Fu Wei said.
NovaBridge's pipeline includes givastomig, a Claudin 18.2 × 4-1BB bispecific antibody in a global Phase 2 study for gastric cancer, and VIS-101, a dual VEGF-A × ANG-2 inhibitor for retinal vascular diseases, with a Phase 2b study expected to begin in the second half of 2026.
