KBR (NYSE: KBR) has been selected to provide technology licensing and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) services for a proposed sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) plant on Singapore's Jurong Island, according to a company press release.

The plant is being developed by Keppel Ltd.'s Infrastructure Division and Aster Chemicals and Energy. It would use KBR's PureSAF technology, which was developed by Swedish Biofuels AB and is exclusively licensed by KBR worldwide. The proposed facility would have a planned production capacity of up to 100,000 tons of SAF per year, subject to a final investment decision and regulatory approvals.

The technology converts ethanol into jet fuel. Keppel and Aster announced their partnership to jointly assess the development of the facility earlier in 2026.

KBR also entered into a Memorandum of Intent with Keppel's Infrastructure Division to collaborate on decarbonization across energy transition technologies, including waste-to-energy, plastic recycling, biofuels, SAF, and AI-driven digitalization.

KBR President and CEO Stuart Bradie said the company is "looking forward to working with Keppel and Aster on this key project and to support Singapore's ambition of becoming Asia's leading SAF hub."
