Chevron relaunches Techron fuel with summer rewards program
Chevron U.S.A. Inc., a subsidiary of Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX), has introduced a reformulated version of its Chevron with Techron gasoline and announced new promotions through its loyalty program ahead of the summer travel season.
The reformulated fuel includes Techron, a detergent additive that Chevron says cleans up to 100% of harmful engine deposits left by lower-quality fuels, based on GDI-injector testing using an industry-standard method. The additive is included in every grade of Chevron gasoline.
Chevron is also offering two promotions through its Chevron Rewards program. New members who enroll between June 30 and September 30 can receive $1 off per gallon for up to five fill-ups at participating stations. Existing members who fill up with at least eight gallons of Chevron with Techron between June 30 and July 5 can earn 2,500 bonus points, which the company says is redeemable for 50 cents per gallon in savings on at least five future fills.
Chevron Rewards, Texaco Rewards, and ExtraMile Rewards operate as a single unified loyalty program, with members able to earn and redeem points across all three brands at participating locations.
"What better way to celebrate America's 250th anniversary than by taking a classic summer road trip," said Andy Walz, Chevron president of Downstream, Midstream and Chemicals. "Whether heading out to the beach, mountains or amusement parks, drivers can protect their engines and maximize mileage with Chevron with Techron while earning rewards to save at the pump."
Chevron has also partnered with travel and lifestyle influencer Dean Bell to promote the fuel and rewards program on social media channels.
