Investing.com -- SpaceX's stock market debut proved to be one of the most dominant single-stock events moomoo's U.S. platform has seen, with more than half of all active traders on the platform trading SPCX on IPO day and the stock generating nearly eight times more orders than the second-most traded name.

Data shared with Investing.com shows SPCX ranked first across orders, trading volume, and active traders on moomoo on its IPO day, outpacing Micron Technology by a factor of 7.7x in order volume.

Neil McDonald, CEO of moomoo U.S., said SpaceX stood in a category of its own. "Generating nearly eight times more orders than Micron Technology demonstrates the level of investor interest and highlights just how closely retail investors were following the company's market debut," he said.

The 52% participation rate across the platform's U.S. stock traders also stood out.

"When more than half of all active investors on moomoo trade a single stock, it represents a remarkable level of engagement," McDonald said, describing it as a reflection of the broad appeal of high-profile IPOs in today's market.

Retail interest extended beyond trading activity. Some 27.5% of users engaging with moomoo's AI investment assistant submitted SpaceX-related queries on IPO day, pointing to a shift in how retail investors approach major market events.

McDonald said the data reflects a broader trend of retail investors becoming more informed and sophisticated, increasingly pairing trade execution with real-time research through AI tools that were once the preserve of institutional players.

"The IPO highlights how retail investors are increasingly leveraging advanced tools and data that were once primarily available to institutional investors, allowing them to make more informed decisions," he said.
