Modular Medical begins U.S. sales of Pivot insulin patch pump
Modular Medical, Inc. (NASDAQ: MODD) announced that its Pivot tubeless insulin patch pump is now commercially available in the United States, with first shipments beginning the week of June 24, 2026.
The Pivot pump received FDA 510(k) clearance in April 2026. The company describes it as the second fully electronic, tubeless insulin pump available in the U.S. market. The device features a two-part removable design, a 3 mL reservoir, and does not require battery recharging.
Modular Medical is initially targeting select high-volume endocrinology practices, with plans to expand across multiple metropolitan markets by late 2026. Full commercial expansion activities are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The company is targeting insulin-dependent adults who remain on multiple daily injections rather than pump therapy. Modular Medical estimates this group represents approximately 70% of insulin-dependent adults in the U.S.
"Reaching commercial availability is a transformational milestone that marks Modular Medical's transition from a development-stage company to a revenue-generating commercial business," said Jeb Besser, Chief Executive Officer of Modular Medical.
Modular Medical was founded by Paul DiPerna, who previously founded Tandem Diabetes in 2005 and designed its t:slim insulin pump.
