Gentex Corporation (NASDAQ: GNTX) and Hörmann have announced an agreement to integrate Hörmann's connected garage door opener technology into Gentex's HomeLink car-to-home automation system for European markets.

The integration will allow HomeLink users in Europe to control compatible Hörmann garage door systems through the HomeLink app or directly from a connected vehicle via the HomeLink cloud. Supported functions include remote monitoring, secure open and close commands, and in-vehicle access control.

HomeLink uses radio frequency, Long-Range Bluetooth, and cloud-based technologies to connect vehicles to garage doors, gates, lights, and other smart home devices. According to the companies, HomeLink is available on nearly 300 vehicle models from more than 50 automaker brands, with approximately 110 million units in operation worldwide.

Hörmann, headquartered in Steinhagen, Germany, manufactures gates, doors, frames, operators, access control systems, and storage solutions. The company employs more than 6,000 people across facilities in Europe, North America, and Asia, and reported annual revenue of more than €1 billion.
