Carvana adds reconditioning capabilities to ADESA Sarasota site
Carvana (NYSE: CVNA) announced plans to add Inspection and Reconditioning Center (IRC) capabilities to its existing ADESA Sarasota wholesale auction site in Bradenton, Florida, according to a company press release.
The integration is expected to create approximately 100 jobs in inspection, reconditioning, and vehicle fulfillment. The positions do not require a college degree and include benefits. Carvana said it has already begun hiring for these roles.
The approximately 60-acre ADESA Sarasota facility, which has operated as a wholesale auto auction site for 20 years, includes more than 3,000 parking spaces. It will continue to support wholesale auction operations while also housing retail reconditioning and fulfillment teams.
"Bringing IRC capabilities to ADESA Sarasota strengthens our national network and our customer offering while creating meaningful job opportunities in the Sarasota area," said Brian Boyd, Senior Vice President of Inventory at Carvana.
The company said the integration will establish a local retail inventory pool, with same-day delivery options available to nearby customers. Wholesale buyers will retain access to ADESA's in-lane and digital auction services alongside the added on-site reconditioning capabilities.
Carvana's software platform, CARLI, will be used to manage the site's transition to an IRC-enabled facility.
