Teledyne Technologies (NYSE: TDY) announced that its Teledyne FLIR Defense unit has been awarded a $28.8 million contract by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to supply mobile surveillance systems for the agency's Enhanced Mobile Surveillance Capability–Lite (eMSC-L) program.

Under the 24-month contract, Teledyne FLIR Defense will deliver an advanced version of its Lightweight Vehicle Surveillance System (LVSS), a multi-sensor platform mounted on a Ford F-250 4x4 pickup truck. The system integrates radar and electro-optical/infrared cameras on a deployable mast and is designed to be operated by a single person from within the vehicle cab.

The eMSC-L systems are intended for deployment primarily along the Southwest border, where they will be used to detect, identify, classify, and track individuals, vehicles, and animals near or crossing the border.

Initial deliveries are expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026. The systems will be built at Teledyne FLIR Defense's facility in Elkridge, Maryland, and serviced at the company's Tucson service center.
