Best Buy launches RGB LED TVs as exclusive national retailer

June 24, 2026 7:00 AM

Best Buy (NYSE: BBY) has begun selling RGB LED televisions in stores nationwide, positioning itself as the exclusive national retail partner for the new display technology from Samsung, Sony, LG, TCL and Hisense.

The TVs are now on display in nearly every Best Buy store, with screen sizes starting at 50 inches and extending to 116-inch displays. They are also available through the Best Buy app and BestBuy.com.

According to the company, RGB LED TVs use dedicated red, green and blue LEDs combined with precision dimming zones. Best Buy claims the technology can produce nearly 76% of colors visible to the human eye.

"RGB LED is the biggest leap in TV technology since OLED arrived in 2013. It is not just a spec change — the colors are physically produced differently, and it's something you'll notice immediately," said Jason Bonfig, incoming CEO and chief customer, product and fulfillment officer at Best Buy.

Best Buy says it has trained and certified more than 15,000 store employees on the technology in partnership with the participating brands. Customers purchasing an RGB LED TV will receive free delivery, installation, mounting and haul-away of their existing television.

The company reported $41.7 billion in revenue in fiscal 2026 and operates more than 1,000 retail stores across North America.
