June 23, 2026 4:17 PM

Nike, Inc. (NYSE: NKE) announced that David M. Denton will join the company as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective August 17, replacing Matthew Friend, who will step down on that date and remain with the company through September 4 to support the transition.

Friend is scheduled to participate in Nike's fourth quarter fiscal 2026 earnings call on June 30, as previously planned.

Denton joins Nike from Pfizer, Inc., where he served as CFO and Executive Vice President since May 2022. He previously served as CFO and Executive Vice President of Lowe's Companies, Inc. from 2018 to 2022, and spent two decades at CVS Health Corporation, including as Executive Vice President and CFO. He has also served on the boards of Haleon and Tapestry, and is expected to join the board of Honeywell Aerospace following its planned spin-off from Honeywell.

"Dave is a proven public-company CFO who knows how to help great consumer brands operate with discipline and invest to win," said Elliott Hill, President and CEO of Nike.

Nike also provided an update on its expected fourth quarter fiscal 2026 results, noting that the quarter will include a benefit from tariff refunds that was not included in previously provided guidance. Excluding that one-time benefit, fourth quarter results are expected to be generally in line with prior guidance. Full results will be reported June 30 at 2:00 p.m. PT.
