U.S. Bank has appointed Eric Levine as head of healthcare for its Payments: Merchant and Institutional (PMI) Sales Distribution division, according to a press release from U.S. Bancorp (NYSE: USB).

In the role, Levine will oversee the bank's strategy to align treasury, merchant, and payments solutions for healthcare clients, including hospital systems, payers, medical device manufacturers, and life sciences companies. He will report to Peter Geronimo, executive vice president and head of PMI Sales Distribution.

Levine brings more than 20 years of experience in global payments, treasury solutions, and the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. He joins from Bank of America, where he focused on global payment solutions for large pharmaceutical and medical device companies. He previously held payments leadership roles at Citi and JPMorgan. He is based in Chicago.

"Healthcare is a priority area for U.S. Bank, with significant opportunity to help clients simplify complex payments, improve working capital and create better experiences for the people and organizations they serve," said Geronimo.

Geronimo joined U.S. Bank in February from Citi to build the PMI Sales Distribution team.

U.S. Bank describes its PMI organization as bringing together merchant acquiring, treasury management, and corporate payments capabilities for large institutional clients. The bank lists payments transformation as one of its top three enterprise priorities.
