MiniMed (Nasdaq: MMED) announced the commercial launch in Europe of its MiniMed 780G system integrated with the Instinct sensor and the MiniMed Go system integrated with the Instinct Go sensor, both made by Abbott. The rollout across European markets began in June 2026, following CE mark approval earlier this year for integration with both systems.

The Instinct and Instinct Go sensors, made by Abbott, are described as the smallest and longest-wear sensors in MiniMed's portfolio, with a wear duration of up to 15 days. The sensors were previously unavailable as an option for MiniMed system users in Europe.

A randomized crossover study published in Diabetes Technology & Therapeutics found that glycemic outcomes were comparable when using the MiniMed 780G system with either the Simplera Sync sensor or the Instinct sensor. A separate real-world analysis of more than 20,000 U.S. users of the MiniMed 780G system was cited as supporting those findings.

The MiniMed Go system pairs the InPen smart insulin pen with the Instinct Go sensor through a single mobile app, providing real-time glucose data, dose calculations, and missed dose alerts for people using multiple daily injections.

Professor Amir Tirosh of Sheba Medical Center and Tel-Aviv University said the integration "allows more people to access advanced diabetes technology in a way that works for them, while still benefiting from the proven algorithm and clinical outcomes."
