Accenture launches Edge unit targeting mid-market companies
Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has launched Accenture Edge, a new business unit aimed at companies with annual revenues between $300 million and $3 billion, offering AI and technology services previously focused on large enterprises.
According to a press release, the mid-market segment represents an estimated $240 billion total addressable market, growing at a high single-digit rate. Accenture Edge will initially launch in priority markets worldwide, with plans to expand its partner-focused solutions over time.
The unit will offer platform-led solutions covering core system modernization, AI adoption, cybersecurity, sales, and operations. Accenture Edge will also integrate with Avanade, Accenture's joint venture with Microsoft, which will continue to provide Microsoft platform services to mid-market clients.
"Mid-market companies face many of the same technology, data, AI, cybersecurity and productivity challenges as large enterprises, but they need solutions that are faster to deploy, more repeatable and right-sized for their scale," said Julie Sweet, chair and CEO of Accenture.
Accenture cited existing mid-market clients Churchill Downs Incorporated and The Keg Ltd. as examples of companies that have already received services under the model Accenture Edge is built upon. Churchill Downs reported faster financial insights and more agile decision-making following an Accenture-led modernization of its financial operations. The Keg Ltd. noted improvements to its enterprise resource planning environment.
Lars Goransson, vice president of Worldwide Services Research at IDC, said mid-market buyers consistently face the same transformation pressures as larger peers but with fewer resources, adding that Accenture Edge provides "a dedicated operating structure built for the speed, economics, and partner alignment the segment requires."
Accenture reported approximately $70 billion in revenue for fiscal year 2025 and employs approximately 799,000 people globally.
