Jacobs (NYSE: J) is serving as technical advisor to the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) on the construction of a new $1.7 billion public health laboratory in Albany for the New York State Department of Health.

The new Wadsworth Center Public Health Laboratory will be a 663,000 gross-square-foot, five-story facility designed to support clinical, environmental and research activities. The project will consolidate multiple existing laboratory sites into a single campus, with construction expected to be completed in 2030.

Jacobs is providing consulting and technical advisory services across architectural, engineering and construction disciplines, representing DASNY and the New York State Department of Health. The company is working alongside the design-build joint venture of Gilbane Building Company and Turner Construction Company, in association with HOK.

The Wadsworth Center is recognized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a national reference laboratory. The facility is intended to support disease surveillance, outbreak response, environmental testing and newborn screening programs.
