Huron adds Shoshana Vernick to its board of directors

Huron (NASDAQ: HURN) announced the election of Shoshana Vernick to its board of directors, effective June 19, 2026, bringing the board's total membership to nine.



Vernick is co-founder and managing partner of Avathon Capital, a private equity firm focused on the education and knowledge services sector. Since founding the firm in 2016, she has overseen 16 platform investments. She previously served as managing director at Sterling Partners, where she invested across education, healthcare, and business services.



Vernick also served as an independent trustee of Flowstone Opportunity Fund and held a seat on its audit committee. She currently serves on the boards of several Avathon Capital portfolio companies, including Academic Programs International, ReUp Education, Shorelight, Edvance, Summit Professional Education, and OculusIT. She is vice chair of the Illinois Venture Capital Association and a founding board member of the IVCA Foundation.



Hugh Sawyer, non-executive chairman of the Huron board, said Vernick's "industry knowledge, financial acumen, and perspective on strategy, organizational effectiveness, capital markets, and governance will be a valuable addition to our board."



The company described the appointment as part of its periodic board refreshment process, according to a press release statement.
