RGA names Laura Cockrill as its new chief financial officer
Reinsurance Group of America (NYSE: RGA) has named Laura Cockrill as Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately, according to a company statement. She succeeds Axel André, who will depart the company on July 17.
Cockrill most recently served as RGA's Chief Strategy Officer and was a member of the company's Executive Committee. She will retain her seat on the Executive Committee in her new role.
Prior to serving as Chief Strategy Officer, Cockrill held the position of Deputy Chief Financial Officer and, before that, Chief Financial Officer for RGA's Americas region. The company said she has spent more than 25 years with RGA across various finance roles, including responsibilities spanning capital, investments, treasury, and financial planning and analysis.
"She has played a pivotal role in shaping and advancing our enterprise strategy and long-term growth priorities," said Tony Cheng, President and Chief Executive Officer of RGA. "Laura is a proven leader who brings an unmatched understanding of our business."
Cheng also acknowledged André's departure, stating he wished him well "as he embarks on this exciting new chapter."
RGA reported approximately $4.3 trillion of life reinsurance in force and total assets of $164.1 billion as of March 31, 2026.
