Cheche Group launches AI underwriting agent for auto insurance renewal
Cheche Group Inc. (NASDAQ: CCG) announced the launch of "ABAO Agent," an artificial intelligence-powered underwriting tool built on the company's proprietary large language model, according to a press release dated June 22, 2026.
The agent is designed to automate auto insurance renewal workflows, including customer outreach, needs identification, policy follow-up, and conversion. The company says the system operates 24/7 without human intervention and has been commercially deployed in auto insurance renewal scenarios.
Cheche, which is headquartered in Beijing and operates a network of approximately 108 branches across 25 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities in China, says the tool is intended to reduce labor and operational costs for its carrier partners.
"ABAO Agent is the core engine of Cheche's intelligent transformation," said Lei Zhang, Founder, CEO, and Chairman of Cheche Group. "We have spent years building proprietary insurance data, scenario-based algorithms, and deep industry relationships — ABAO Agent is where that foundation becomes a competitive moat."
Zhang added that the company intends to expand AI integration across the insurance lifecycle, including underwriting, pricing, and claims, with a focus on cost reductions for carrier partners.
Cheche was established in 2014 and describes itself as an auto insurance technology platform offering digital insurance transaction services and insurance software-as-a-service solutions in China.
