Nokia and Google Cloud to integrate Gemini AI into network software

June 22, 2026 8:04 AM

Nokia (NYSE: NOK) and Google Cloud announced an expanded partnership to integrate Google's Gemini AI models into Nokia's Nokia Assurance Center network software suite, according to a joint press release.

The collaboration involves six specialized AI agents built using Google Cloud's Agent Development Kit on the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. Each agent is designed to handle specific network operational tasks, including event triage, anomaly detection, performance monitoring, remediation recommendations, and dashboard generation.

Nokia said the agents can reduce network problem-solving times by 50% to 80%, with complex issues that previously took hours to resolve now addressable in minutes. The system uses what Nokia describes as "glass box autonomy," where human engineers retain final approval over critical actions, while low-risk scenarios can support fully automated closed-loop responses.

The agents run on standard Google Cloud infrastructure, including Kubernetes and Google Cloud Storage, without requiring custom managed services.

The router and event triage agents are already operational. Nokia plans to launch the full platform as a software-as-a-service product on the Google Cloud Marketplace in September 2026, with additional agents delivered through rolling updates beginning in late 2026 and continuing through 2027.

Live demonstrations are scheduled at DTW Ignite in Copenhagen from June 23 to 25, 2025, at both the Google Cloud booth and the Nokia booth.
