Innoviz to supply LiDAR sensors for Mobileye's robotaxi platform

June 22, 2026 8:02 AM

Innoviz Technologies (NASDAQ: INVZ) announced it is a LiDAR supplier for the Mobileye Drive™ autonomous driving platform, following Mobileye's (NASDAQ: MBLY) disclosure that it plans to launch a vertically integrated robotaxi service in a U.S. city in 2027.

Each Mobileye Drive™ vehicle integrates nine InnovizTwo LiDAR sensors, covering both long-range and short-to-mid-range configurations to provide 360-degree coverage. The sensors operate alongside Mobileye's imaging radars and cameras.

Mobileye plans to deploy an initial fleet of approximately 100 vehicles in a major U.S. metropolitan market in 2027, with plans to scale to approximately 17,000 vehicles over the following five years. Innoviz said it sees a potential opportunity of more than 150,000 LiDAR units from the program based on the current nine-sensor-per-vehicle configuration.

The Mobileye Drive™ platform is designed to support robotaxis, ride-pooling, public transport, and goods delivery. Mobileye's autonomous ride-hailing service will combine the Drive™ platform with its Moovit subsidiary's mobility platform, fleet management, and teleoperation infrastructure.

"Mobileye Drive™ is already operating in the real world today, and Mobileye's decision to take direct ownership of a robotaxi service at scale reflects the maturity of the platform," said Omer Keilaf, CEO and founder of Innoviz Technologies.

Innoviz noted in its statement that there is no assurance regarding the number of LiDAR units that will ultimately be incorporated into deployed vehicles, as final volumes depend on Mobileye's deployment plans and commercial decisions.
