Sky Quarry targets July launch of Nevada refinery operations

June 22, 2026 7:32 AM

Sky Quarry Inc. (NASDAQ: SKYQ) announced it expects to commence operations at its Foreland Refinery in Ely, Nevada, in July, with approximately 10,000 barrels of crude oil and in-process inventory already on-site.

The company, which describes the Foreland facility as Nevada's only operating refinery, said it has completed repairs, upgrades, and enhancements to critical operating systems. Total on-site storage capacity stands at more than 100,000 barrels.

Interim Chief Executive Officer Marcus Laun said in a statement that the company is transitioning from an infrastructure preparation phase to production, with a focus on customer deliveries, operating margins, and cash flow generation.

The refinery produces diesel, vacuum gas oil, naphtha, and asphalt for Western U.S. markets. Sky Quarry noted that Nevada relies heavily on fuel imported from neighboring regions and that several large refining facilities in California have recently ceased operations or announced plans to do so.

The company also operates the PR Spring development facility in Utah. The announcement was based on information provided in a press release from Sky Quarry.
