FirstEnergy names new VP roles in compliance and transformation

FirstEnergy Corp. (NYSE: FE) announced three senior leadership appointments, effective June 28, according to a press release from the Akron, Ohio-based utility.

Antonio Fernández has been named Vice President of Business Transformation, reporting to Jon Taylor, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Fernández previously served as FirstEnergy's Vice President and Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer for five years. Before joining FirstEnergy, he held senior roles at Public Service Enterprise Group, GE Power, Florida Power & Light and Pacific Gas and Electric Company.

Deandra Williams-Lewis will succeed Fernández as Vice President and Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer, reporting to Hyun Park, Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, and to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. Williams-Lewis most recently served as Director, Ethics & Compliance and Chief Privacy Officer at FirstEnergy. She previously held roles at ReliabilityFirst, GE Lighting, KPMG, BearingPoint and Maxim Healthcare.

Brian Harrell, Vice President and Chief Security Officer, will take on the additional role of Chief Privacy Officer. Harrell previously held senior security roles at Avangrid Energy, Duke Energy and the North American Electric Reliability Corporation.
