F5 (NASDAQ: FFIV) and Equinix announced a collaboration to help enterprises deploy and govern distributed artificial intelligence across hybrid and multicloud environments, according to a press release from F5.

The arrangement combines F5 AI Guardrails with the Equinix Distributed AI Hub, creating what the companies describe as a policy-enforced AI control plane. AI traffic runs over private interconnects, with governance controls applied across clouds, models, and agents.

F5 AI Guardrails applies policy-based controls during AI interactions to detect and block data leakage, policy violations, and harmful outputs. The Equinix Distributed AI Hub connects enterprises to AI infrastructure providers across a network of more than 280 data centers and more than 10,000 customers.

The combined framework is designed to support compliance with regulations including GDPR, HIPAA, and the EU AI Act, with unified dashboards and audit-ready reporting. F5's AI Guardrails is deployed as an on-premises solution within Equinix facilities, targeting organizations with data sovereignty requirements.

The framework also incorporates F5 AI Red Team, which the company says can identify exploitable weaknesses against guardrail policies.
