Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) has released six new devices in its Gen 7 1200 V FRED Pt Hyperfast rectifier platform, packaged in the eSMP series SMPC HV format, according to a company press release.

The new rectifiers are rated at 1 A, 2 A, and 3 A and include both standard and AEC-Q101 qualified automotive-grade variants. The six part numbers are VS-E7SX0112-M3V, VS-E7SX0212-M3V, VS-E7SX0312-M3V, VS-E7SX0112HM3V, VS-E7SX0212HM3V, and VS-E7SX0312HM3V.

The devices feature a recovery time of 50 ns, reverse recovery charge (Qrr) down to 105 nC, forward voltage drop down to 1.45 V, and junction capacitance down to 7.25 pF. The 3 A variants support a non-repetitive peak surge current of 70 A. All six devices operate at temperatures up to +175 °C and are RoHS-compliant and halogen-free.

The compact package measures 4.3 mm x 6.5 mm with a 1.1 mm profile and is footprint-compatible with the TO-277A. A minimum 5.4 mm creepage distance and a molding compound with a comparative tracking index of 600 or greater meet IEC 60664-1 requirements for high voltage applications.

Vishay states the devices are intended for use as clamp, snubber, and freewheeling diodes in flyback auxiliary power supplies and high frequency rectifiers. Target applications include industrial drives, on-board chargers and motors for electric vehicles, energy storage systems, and LED SEPIC circuitry.
