Cognizant and Rubrik expand alliance on AI agent governance

June 16, 2026 10:01 AM

Cognizant (NASDAQ: CTSH) announced an expanded strategic alliance with Rubrik on June 16, 2026, aimed at helping enterprises manage autonomous AI agents operating in production environments.

As a launch partner for Rubrik Agent Cloud, Cognizant intends to embed the offering as a governance layer within its Neuro® AI platform and AI Factory delivery platforms. The arrangement positions Cognizant as one of the first global systems integrators to operationalize the product.

The integration is designed to give enterprises visibility into agent actions, real-time policy enforcement, and the ability to reverse unintended agent activity in defined scenarios. Within Cognizant Neuro® AI, Rubrik Agent Cloud is intended to track each action taken by AI agents, scope the potential impact of agent-initiated changes, and enable rollback when an agent executes an unintended action. Within AI Factory, the control layer is designed to enforce access and action policies and maintain an auditable record aligned to governance standards including the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and ISO/IEC 42001.

"Enterprises everywhere are working to operationalize AI, and many reach the same point of friction: they need greater visibility into what their agents are doing, and they need the ability to reverse course when an agent acts in error," said Sriram Kumaresan, Global Head of Cloud and Infrastructure Services at Cognizant.

Alok Agrawal, Chief Solutions Officer at Rubrik, said the product was built to give organizations "visibility into what their agents do, control over what they are allowed to do and undo what may have been done in error."

Initial joint work focuses on regulated sectors, including healthcare, life sciences, financial services, and insurance, where auditability and operational control are described as central requirements.
