BlackBerry Limited (NYSE: BB, TSX: BB) announced a series of upcoming enhancements to its Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) platform, targeting government agencies, defense organizations, and regulated enterprises seeking on-premises device management without reliance on public cloud infrastructure.

The upcoming UEM release includes expanded macOS management through an on-premises deployment model, allowing organizations to manage Apple, Windows, and Android devices from a single console. BlackBerry stated that UEM is the first endpoint management solution certified by Germany's Federal Office for Information Security under Common Criteria for managing Apple and Samsung devices in government environments.

The release also advances post-quantum cryptography by upgrading cryptographic libraries and aligning with NIST post-quantum standards as part of a path toward FIPS 140-3 accreditation. The company said protections extend from the UEM server to end-user devices and complement existing BSI Common Criteria certification and NATO Restricted alignment.

Additional features include expanded multi-tenant management capabilities for service providers and complex government or enterprise environments requiring separation between departments or agencies, along with a refreshed administrator console. Secure file-sharing enhancements embed access controls directly into documents so protections travel with individual files.

Optional AI-assisted capabilities can be enabled at an organization's discretion, according to the company.

"Organizations should not have to choose between modern capabilities and sovereign control," said Nathan Jenniges, Senior Vice President and General Manager, BlackBerry Secure Communications. "These enhancements enable customers to adopt AI, prepare for the post-quantum era, and manage diverse device fleets on infrastructure they own and control."

The new capabilities are expected to be available in summer 2026, with select management and multi-tenant console enhancements becoming generally available later in 2026.
