Schlage to release hands-free smart deadbolt at $399 on June 29

June 16, 2026 9:03 AM

Allegion (NYSE: ALLE) brand Schlage announced its Sense Pro Smart Deadbolt will go on sale June 29, 2026, priced at $399 in the U.S. and $549 in Canada.

The lock uses Ultra Wideband technology through what Schlage calls its Converge platform, enabling hands-free unlocking via Apple Wallet home keys on compatible iPhone or Apple Watch devices. The system calculates speed, trajectory, and motion to determine when a user intends to enter and unlocks as they approach the door.

The Sense Pro is Schlage's first smart lock to support Matter over Thread, a connectivity standard designed for smart home integration. It is compatible with Thread-enabled Apple Home hubs, including Apple TV 4K (2nd and 3rd generation), HomePod (2nd generation), and HomePod mini.

The lock includes built-in Wi-Fi and is managed through the Schlage Home app, which allows remote locking and unlocking, management of up to 250 access codes, timed auto-lock, and scheduling. Three hands-free unlock modes are available: intuitive, touch, and delay.

Battery life is rated at up to six months under standard usage. A USB-C port is built in to provide temporary power if batteries are depleted.

Schlage said the lock is Aliro compatible and is expected to support digital keys in Samsung Wallet and Google Wallet later in 2026, once certified. Samsung and Google devices with Ultra Wideband would support hands-free unlock, while NFC-enabled devices would support tap-to-unlock.

The Sense Pro will be sold in the U.S. through Amazon, Lowe's, The Home Depot, and Schlage.com. Canadian availability will be through The Home Depot online and in-store.

David Perozzi, general manager of Allegion Home, said in a statement: "Sense Pro is a testament to this dedication, offering hands-free unlock and enhanced convenience for everyday life, while upholding the Schlage legacy of trusted security."
