Carlyle and Content Partners close film and TV continuation vehicle
Carlyle (NASDAQ: CG) and Content Partners LLC have closed a single-asset continuation vehicle for Content Partners, according to a press release dated June 16, 2026.
The transaction gives existing investors, including Carlyle Credit Opportunities Fund II, the option to realize liquidity or remain invested, while also allowing new third-party investors and Carlyle Credit Opportunities Fund III to participate. The structure provides additional capital for Content Partners to pursue acquisitions across the film and television market.
Content Partners, founded in 2006 by Steven Blume and Steven Kram, manages a portfolio of more than 800 motion pictures and over 3,000 hours of television content. Carlyle's Global Credit platform first invested in the company in 2022.
Benjamin Fund, a partner at Carlyle, said the portfolio is characterized by "long-duration, largely uncorrelated cash flows" that the firm believes are positioned to benefit from demand for library content.
Carlyle's Global Credit platform had $209 billion in assets under management as of March 31, 2026. The firm overall managed $475 billion in assets under management as of the same date.
Moelis & Company LLC served as financial advisor to Carlyle. Debevoise & Plimpton LLP and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP provided legal counsel to Carlyle. Latham & Watkins LLP served as legal counsel to Content Partners.
