XTEND secures U.S. patent for UAV control under communication latency
JFB Construction Holdings (NASDAQ: JFB) announced that XTEND, a robotics and software company, has been granted U.S. Patent No. 12,461,522, covering technology that enables unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to maintain control when communications are degraded or delayed.
The patent addresses remote maneuvering of UAVs under high-latency conditions, allowing operators to sustain reliable control despite disrupted signals. XTEND states the technology is designed for contested environments where communication disruption is common.
"Reliable autonomy has to hold up in every operational scenario, especially when communications are degraded and the environment becomes unpredictable," said Aviv Shapira, Co-Founder and CEO of XTEND. "Owning this intellectual property protects the capabilities that set our systems apart and makes them difficult for others to replicate."
The patent is part of XTEND's broader software and autonomy portfolio built around its XOS operating system, which the company says allows operators to manage autonomous robotic systems across air, ground, and maritime domains.
Separately, JFB Construction Holdings and XTEND entered into a definitive agreement in February 2026 to combine in an all-stock transaction. Following the close of the deal, the combined company is expected to be renamed XTEND AI Robotics and listed on a U.S. national securities exchange under the ticker symbol "XTND." The transaction includes strategic investments from Eric Trump, Unusual Machines, American Ventures LLC, Protego Ventures, and Aliya Capital.
