June 10, 2026 7:47 AM

Polyrizon Ltd. (NASDAQ: PLRZ) announced that the European Patent Office has published the company's patent application for mucoadhesive nasal drug delivery technology. The application, titled "Mucoadhesive Polymers for Nasal Drug Delivery," was published under European publication number EP 4751737.

The patent application covers Polyrizon's Trap & Target mucoadhesive polymer technology platform, which is designed to enhance interaction between pharmaceutical formulations and nasal mucosa. The technology aims to increase formulation retention and improve drug absorption through nasal administration.

"The forthcoming publication of this European patent application marks an important step in strengthening our position in the growing nasal drug delivery market," said Tomer Izraeli, Chief Executive Officer of Polyrizon. "We believe our proprietary mucoadhesive polymer technology has the potential to improve the performance of nasal drug delivery systems across a broad range of therapeutic applications."

The patent application addresses residence time limitations within the nasal cavity through advanced mucoadhesive polymer systems. Nasal drug delivery offers rapid onset of action and non-invasive administration while potentially bypassing gastrointestinal degradation.

The application will continue through the European examination process. If granted, the patent could provide intellectual property protection across multiple European markets, according to the company's press release statement.

Polyrizon is a development-stage biotech company that specializes in nasal spray hydrogels for medical device applications and drug delivery systems. The company's technology platforms include Capture and Contain hydrogel technology and the Trap and Target system for pharmaceutical ingredient delivery.
