Socket Mobile launches S721 scanner with Magic Dock for retail workstations
Socket Mobile Inc. (NASDAQ: SCKT) announced a cordless scanning solution that combines the S721 Bluetooth LE scanner with the Magic Dock charging station for Shopify POS Hub systems.
The product targets retail checkout counters, healthcare stations, hospitality front desks, and warehouse receiving environments. The solution addresses issues where scanners are frequently moved between employees, misplaced between shifts, or left uncharged in shared workstation environments.
"Retailers want cordless scanning to feel simple, stable, and always ready at the checkout counter," said Dave Holmes, Chief Business Officer at Socket Mobile. "The combination of the S721 and Magic Dock addresses that need."
The Magic Dock works with Shopify, Square, Lightspeed, Loyverse, and other point-of-sale applications. The S721 scanner can also operate independently without the dock, connecting directly to compatible devices through Bluetooth LE for mobile point-of-sale environments.
Socket Mobile will offer a 60-day satisfaction guarantee for customers purchasing the S721 and Magic Dock combination, allowing returns for a full refund excluding shipping costs. The company also announced a $50 trade-in incentive program for businesses transitioning from existing scanner configurations.
The S721 and Magic Dock solution carries a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $219 and is available immediately, according to the company's press release.
The solution supports standard keyboard-style input for immediate compatibility and enhanced data capture for applications built with Socket Mobile's CaptureSDK 2.1.
