Veeco receives follow-on order for nanosecond annealing system
Veeco Instruments Inc. (NASDAQ: VECO) announced a logic customer placed a follow-on order for its Nanosecond Annealing System after completing a successful evaluation. The company also shipped an NSA500 system to a third advanced logic customer for evaluation.
The customer's evaluation tool met performance and process requirements for advanced logic applications, leading to acceptance and the additional order. The follow-on order is expected to ship in the second half of 2026.
Veeco's NSA500 system provides thermal processing with nanosecond-scale dwell times and high peak temperatures. The technology is designed for advanced transistor architectures and stacked devices where conventional annealing approaches face limitations.
"We are encouraged by the increasing level of customer engagement across logic and memory markets as customers evaluate solutions for next-generation device architectures," said Thirumal Thanigaivelan, Senior Vice President at Veeco Instruments Inc.
The evaluation with the third advanced logic customer is expected to be completed in 2027 with potential for initial high-volume manufacturing orders. The company stated these developments highlight growing momentum for the NSA500 platform.
Veeco manufactures semiconductor process equipment including laser annealing, ion beam, metal organic chemical vapor deposition, single wafer etch and clean, and lithography technologies for advanced semiconductor device fabrication and packaging.
