Ribbon Communications launches portable networking solutions
Ribbon Communications Inc. (NASDAQ: RBBN) announced a portfolio of portable networking solutions designed for rapid deployment in mobile data centers, defense operations, and critical infrastructure environments. The company's Network in a Box solutions range from suitcase-sized units to railway-car sized data center configurations.
The solutions provide secure communications platforms supporting high-speed data and voice networking services with zero-touch deployment capabilities. The systems operate independently without requiring existing network connectivity and include redundancy features for operations in challenging environments.
The company reports deployments across multiple regions including North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia with military agencies. The technology was also deployed during disaster response efforts, including support for first responders following the February 2023 magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Turkey.
"This solution combines extensive redundancy to guarantee high degrees of resiliency, with rapid, on-demand deployment to ensure secure, continuous operations in any condition," said Haim Moscovich, VP Integrated Defense Solutions at Ribbon.
The Network in a Box configurations support various applications including disaster recovery for communications providers, critical infrastructure recovery for utilities and transportation sectors, first responder connectivity, and cellular network recovery including 5G capabilities. The systems feature independent power and cooling capabilities with redundant networking interfaces.
Ribbon Communications provides voice communications software, IP routing, and optical networking solutions to service providers, enterprises, and defense sectors. The company is based in Plano, Texas.
