Hadron Energy selects GSE Solutions for reactor training simulator
Hadron Energy Inc. (NASDAQ: HDRN) announced it selected GSE Performance Solutions to design and deliver a training simulator for its Halo Micro-Modular Reactor. The partnership advances from a memorandum of understanding to a committed strategic alliance.
GSE Solutions will develop a full-scope simulator that replicates the Halo MMR's operating behavior, including normal operations and emergency scenarios. The simulator will train reactor operators, senior reactor operators, and engineering staff for Hadron Energy's first deployment, with provisions for future commercial units.
Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations require reactor operator candidates to complete training and pass examinations on a simulator that accurately models their assigned facility. Licensed operators are required before any commercial reactor can generate electricity.
GSE Solutions has built nuclear training simulators since 1971, with experience across pressurized water reactors, boiling water reactors, and advanced reactor programs. The company's installed base spans multiple reactor designs globally.
The simulator selection follows Hadron Energy's recent partnership with Paragon Energy Solutions on instrumentation and control architecture for the Halo MMR. Developing the simulator alongside the plant design aims to identify operability issues during the engineering phase.
Hadron Energy's Halo MMR is designed to deliver 10 megawatts of continuous power. The reactor components are truck-transportable for deployment at data centers, industrial facilities, and remote locations.
Hadron Energy completed its business combination with GigCapital7 Corp. in May 2026 and trades on the Nasdaq Stock Market. The company describes itself as the first publicly traded light-water micro-modular nuclear reactor company.
