Consolidated Water names Sachin Chawla senior VP of strategy and growth
Consolidated Water Co. Ltd. (NASDAQ: CWCO) appointed Sachin Chawla as senior vice president of strategy and growth, according to a company statement. Chawla will oversee business development, sales and marketing activities while supporting CEO Rick McTaggart with mergers and acquisitions initiatives.
Chawla brings more than 25 years of water industry experience across public and private sector businesses. His background includes large-scale desalination projects, public utility operations and project development.
The George Town, Cayman Islands-based company reported record retail water volume in Grand Cayman during 2025 and secured new water treatment contracts in Colorado and California expected to contribute to 2026 revenue. In the first quarter of 2026, the company reported growth in bulk and services segments, supported by revenue from its commissioned Cat Island desalination facility in The Bahamas.
Consolidated Water expects to commission a second Cat Island plant in the second quarter of 2026 and anticipates beginning construction on its 1.7 million gallon-per-day desalination project in Hawaii later this year.
Chawla holds a Master of Science in environmental science and engineering from Oregon Health & Science University and a Bachelor of Engineering in chemical engineering from MIT Manipal, India.
The company designs, constructs and operates seawater desalination facilities in the Cayman Islands, The Bahamas and the British Virgin Islands, and operates water treatment facilities in the United States.
